London, England and the Reading Alternative Music Festival

PLEASE note: These pages have not been updated since 1996; they are kept here solely for historical purposes. Some links or programs may no longer work, and the design is, of course, quite dated. My new personal site is here.
In the summer of 1994, my friend John won a trip to the Reading Alternative Music Festival in England from the local "alternative" radio station (WHFS). These are some of the pictures I took while we were over there.

The thumbnail pix on the map below are cropped, black-and-white versions of the pictures you'll get if you click on them. Click on the picture you want to see the full-color, uncropped jpegs, or choose the pictures from the text below the imagemap.

Collage/Imagemap

The pictures are (left to right, top row then bottom on the image):
  1. Pigeons (63K). Tourists playing with the pigeons in Trafalgar Square.
  2. Pose (104K). Dummies in a shop window. (my favorite of the six)
  3. Ladeez (69K). Two lone women sitting near the side stage at the Reading Festival.
  4. Phone (56K). A typical phone booth in London - prostitutes' calling cards all around. I altered this photo by removing the last 4 digits of each phone number.
  5. BritDog (86K). A fellow concert-goer taking a nap.
  6. Brit2 (47K). A man and his flags.
